The 11th NanoLSI Colloquium was held online on Thursday, March 11, 2021.
Prof. Kunio Matsumoto served as the chairperson, and Prof. Seiji Yano (Life Science), Prof. Shigehisa Akine (Supramolecular Chemistry), and Prof. Alexander Mikhailov (Computational Sciences), an overseas PI, presented their latest research. Many questions were raised in the Q&A session. Prof. Mark J. MacLachlan from Canada (overseas PI) also participated remotely and asked questions.
A lively exchange of opinions took place afterwards, which is expected to lead to new transdisciplinary research.
The day of the Colloquium also marked the 10th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake. Prof. Akine, one of the speakers, shared his experience of the disaster in Tsukuba City, where he worked at the time, with the NanoLSI members prior to his presentation.
