Professor Toshio Ando Wins the 53rd Naito Foundation Merit Award
The Naito Foundation has announced the 53rd Merit Award for the year 2021, and Professor Toshio Ando of our institute has been selected as the winner. Then on 17 March 2022, the award ceremony was held at the Quince, Tokyo Kaikan 7F in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
The prize is awarded by the Naito Foundation, which was established by Eisai founder Toyoji Naito, to researchers who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement and development of basic natural sciences that contribute to the promotion of human health. This time, Professor Ando was awarded for his exceptional achievement in the “Development of high-speed atomic force microscopy and elucidation of the functional mechanism of proteins”.
Professor Ando was presented with a certificate and a gold medal at the award ceremony.
