NanoLSI researchers participated in 15th annual German-Japanese colloquium
15th annual German-Japanese colloquium was held on February 7th and 8th, hosted by Kanazawa University, Freie Universität Berlin, and JSPS Bonn Office.
The theme of the German-Japanese colloquium this year was ‘Nano-LifeScience’. 6 Japanese researchers including 2 researchers from NanoLSI and 2 researchers from RIKEN Center for Biosystems Dynamics Research (RIKEN BDR), and 7 European researchers gave lectures relevant to a topic ‘Biophysics of Cells and Tissue’. After about 30 minutes talk, the presenters had lively discussions with participants through questions and answers.
On the first day, researchers gave a talk related to optogenetics and membrane proteins, and a talk related to the study of biomolecules and cell signaling using single-molecule imaging technique. Then, Japanese participants had a scientific Dahlem campus tour. After the tour, a talk was provided related to the study of biomolecules using single-molecule imaging technique, followed by the poster session. In the poster session, post-docs. and PhD students at Freie Universität Berlin introduced their works and had discussion with participants.
On the second day, researchers including Profs. Toshio Ando and Rikinari Hanayama, PIs at NanoLSI, gave a talk on Bio-AFM research using high-speed AFM and commercial AFM and a talk on exosome research.
Through the lectures and social events during the two-day colloquium, Japanese participants and European participants had interacted with each other. In addition, interaction with RIKEN BDR researchers was deepened.
