48th Luncheon Meeting was held on January 8, 2026

The 48th Luncheon Meeting took place on Thursday, January 8, 2026, featuring a talk by Asst. Prof. Shuhei Horiguchi (Computational science), chaired by Assoc. Prof. Satoru Okuda.

In the first part of the self-introduction, Dr. Horiguchi talked about well-known spots in Saitama Prefecture, where he is from, as well as the path that led him to his current research. He also shared some personal stories, including his daily life with his one-year-old child who has just started walking. As for his hobby, music, he mentioned that he enjoys practicing classical guitar together with his child. It was a pleasant moment that offered a glimpse of his warm and caring side as a father, different from his usual image as a researcher.

Following his self-introduction, he presented his current research activities. The session concluded with an active Q&A session, with many questions from the audience.
