The 25th NanoLSI Open Seminar “Playing with Stimuli Responsive Polymers”

On May 30, NanoLSI held the Open Seminar “Playing with Stimuli Responsive Polymers” with CHOZEN Project of Kanazawa University. Approximately 40 students and researchers participated.

During the seminar, Dr. Félix Freire from University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, presented a series of stimuli responsive polymers, in particular helical poly(phenylacetylene) derivatives, which can undergo a unique higher-order structural transition in response to the external environment, such as guest ions, solvents, and temperature. He also presented the application of these polymers to anion sensing. The lecture was followed by lively discussions.
