DFG Delegation Visits NanoLSI (December 4, 2025)

On December 4, 2025, a delegation from the German Research Foundation (DFG) visited the Nano Life Science Institute (NanoLSI) at Kanazawa University. The delegation, consisting of seven representatives from DFG headquarters and its Japan office, included Dr. Christine Petry, Head of the Division for Excellence Strategy and Research Impulses. During the visit, the group received an overview of NanoLSI’s research activities and international initiatives.

The program began with a presentation by Administrative Director Masafumi Iwami, followed by research introductions from Professor Yusuke Miyanari, Associate Professor Clemens Franz, and Associate Professor Holger Flechsig. A laboratory tour showcased facilities on the 4th floor and basement, including a detailed explanation of the principles and operation of the SPM microscope. The visit concluded with an engaging Q&A session and discussion.
