Mr. Hideyuki Tanaka, Vice Minister of MEXT, and others visited NanoLSI (4/25/2022)
On April 25, Mr. Hideyuki Tanaka, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and others visited Kanazawa University and inspected NanoLSI.
Vice Minister Tanaka received an overview of Kanazawa University from president Wada and an explanation of the research results of Nano Life Science Institute from director Fukuma, and then visited the open laboratory of life science on the 2nd floor of the NanoLSI bldg. At the lab, Takeshi Yoshida, assistant professor, explained the equipment, etc., while the vice ministers and others observed the actual experiments.
After that, they moved to the basement laboratory where a High-Speed Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), which has been independently developed by NanoLSI, is installed, and Mr. Yosuke Kikuchi, a technical staff member, explained the principle and operation of the AFM. Moreover, Hirotoshi Furusho, a technical staff member, demonstrated the processing of the tip, which is said to be the heart of the AFM, and they looked at the monitor screen of the electron microscope with great interest.
