The first retreat for Nano Life Science Institute, “NanoLSI Retreat 2025,” was held at Hotel Arrowle (Kaga City) from Thursday, November 13 to Friday, November 14, 2025.

This event featured diverse guest speakers from both inside and outside the university, including Prof. Masashi Yanagisawa (University of Tsukuba), Prof. Kimikazu Sugimori (Hokuriku University), Assoc Prof. Ayumi Sumino(Kyoto University),  DesignatedAssist Prof. Atsushi Usami (Nagoya University), Specially Appointed Assist Prof. Christian Ganser (National Institutes for Natural Sciences), Prof. Hidetaka Nambo (Kanazawa University), and Prof. Eishu Hirata (Kanazawa University). Furthermore, Assoc Prof. Satoru Okuda, Assoc Prof. Kenichi Umeda, and Mr. Kosuke Mizuno (D3) from NanoLSI also presented. Despite being the inaugural event, it was a great success, welcoming a total of 120 participants from both inside and outside NanoLSI.

The event featured variedresearch talk sessions over two days, including a special talk by Prof. Masashi Yanagisawa, followed by lively Q&A sessions after each presentation. Many participants reported that the intensive discussions and research exchanges unique to a retreat format were highly valuable, enabling deep sharing of new insights and cutting-edge research results.

On the first day, the poster session was held featuring 82 students and young researchers. This session not only showcased diverse research outcomes but also significantly deepened exchanges and collaboration among the next generation of researchers.

Furthermore, as part of the networking program, activities organized by the NanoLSI Retreat 2025 Student Steering Team—including lab introductions, group rope skipping, and a quiz competition—further energized communication among participants.

The event was organized through the collaborative efforts of faculty, staff, and students, centered around the NanoLSI Retreat 2025 Project Team, enabling smooth program execution. We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed.
