The 9th NanoLSI Symposium held jointly with ISMSC2025

The 9th NanoLSI Symposium was held from Sunday, May 25, to Monday, May 26, 2025, at the ROHM Theatre Kyoto and the Kyoto International Exhibition Hall, Miyako Messe, in Kyoto.
This year’s symposium was held jointly with ISMSC2025 (the 19th International Symposium on Macrocyclic and Supramolecular Chemistry 2025), thanks to the collaboration of Professor Tomoki Ogoshi (Kyoto University, and NanoLSI, Kanazawa University), Professor Shigehisa Akine (NanoLSI, Kanazawa University), and Professor Shiki Yagai (Chiba University). The event was a great success, welcoming 930 participants.
ISMSC is the world’s largest international conference in the field of supramolecular chemistry, bringing together leading researchers from around the world, including Nobel Laureates. It covers a wide range of research areas. This joint conference was a highly significant opportunity for us as we aim to create a new academic field, “Nanoprobe Life Science,” through interdisciplinary collaboration.
The symposium began with opening remarks by Professor Ogoshi. Over the course of the two-day main sessions, 43 speakers, including Professor Takeshi Fukuma, Director of the NanoLSI at Kanazawa University, presented their latest research findings. Active Q & A sessions followed each presentation, leading to enthusiastic and interdisciplinary discussions.
On the second day, a poster session featuring 155 young researchers was held to promote further exchange and collaboration among the next generation of researchers.
The success of this symposium is the result of the dedicated efforts of all those involved, especially Professor Ogoshi, the chair of ISMSC2025. We’d like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude.
