The 55th NanoLSI Open Seminar “Nanoscale probing and visualization of ion channels structural dynamics” was held

On September 13th, NanoLSI held the Open Seminar and 19 researchers and students participated.

During the seminar, Dr. Arin Marchesi from Adhesion & Inflammation Lab, Aix-Marseille Université, France presented his recent work demonstrating how HS-AFM can be exploited to characterize the dynamic trajectory of model ion channels functioning in close-to-physiological conditions (i.e. ambient temperature, liquid, and in a biological membrane) and at the single molecule level. This achievement advances our mechanistic understanding of ion channel structure-function relationship and showcases the unique potential of HS-AFM for the elucidation of conformational dynamics of membrane proteins. His lecture provoked active discussion.
